Enchanted Burlesque started life as The Silk Stocking Striptease Show.

The Silk Stocking Striptease Show was born on the 4th of April 2008 and initially took place on a Sunday night in the music room of the Flapper Pub. In September 2008 the show moved to a Saturday night.

At the time Birmingham only had two other burlesque shows and they were for the higher level of performer. At this point there was nowhere in Birmingham for performers who were just starting out or who had been performing for a few months or years and were still honing their skills and repertoires to grace a stage and entertain the good people of Birmingham.

We ran shows every  two months as well as bespoke events upon request for third parties.

In the time that elapsed between our first show as The Silk Stocking Striptease Show and what was to be our last show as The Silk Stocking Striptease Show we changed our format and formula to remain fresh and entertaining. Gradually bringing in more established performers alongside the newer performers.

On  the 9th of August 2009 we decided to re-brand the show and Enchanted Burlesque was created. The new name was inspired by the sitcom Bewitched, a series Angel LaVey has been a fan of since childhood. We felt it suited our show as we always aim to offer every single member of our audience a magical night of entertainment.

The first Enchanted Burlesque event took place on the 3rd of October 2009 and was our last show in the Flapper Pub. We ran one more small scale show at The Asylum 2 on the 28th of November 2009.

Since then we have moved onto The Old Rep Theatre, making us the only Birmingham based burlesque show which takes place in a theatre. Our shows offer a guaranteed seat for every member of the audience as well as unobstructed views of the stage thanks to the tiered seating. Even the seats at the very back of the balcony have a great view of the stage.

Our shows now feature highly level established performers only.
