Enchanted Burlesque was born on 9 August 2009.

We had previously been known as The Silk Stocking Striptease Show.

A brief outline of our entire history is given below for your edification.

The Silk Stocking Striptease Show was born on April fourth 2008. The show was headlined by Emerald Ace and compered by Dr Agamemnon When. The supporting Burlesque acts were supplied by Kitten Kapers, Heather Sweet, Delilah Dufoe, Darkteaser, Cherryfox and the Boneshakers. Angel LaVey was the singer for the night. Also getting a special mention were our stage hands Miss Ditzy Diamond and Nurse When. The Decadent Gent worked the door with Gehenna.

Notes:

- Angel LaVey thought Gehenna was joking about her singing. Two weeks before the show she realised he was not.

- We showed our greenness, we didn't check what our performers where doing and had 2 widow acts in a row and we totally over booked the show.

- despite being April we had snow on the night.

The second Silk Stocking Striptease Show took place on Sunday 20 May 2008. The show was headlines by Miss Cherry Scorn and Lola Pops. Supporting Burlesque was supplied by Darkteaser, Beatrix Boom and Miss Carlucious Cherry. J.D. Smith handled the musical entertainment. The Decadent Gent was the compere and Angel LaVey performed as Spitney Brears. Miss Ditzy Diamond, Angel LaVey and J.D.'s girlfriend all played their part stage managing throughout the night.

Notes:

- We avoided snow and had torrential rain instead.

- Angel LaVey was never meant to perform, we just needed to fill a 5 minute slot and a crazy plan developed.

- This was the beginning of the evil promoter Pariah of Gehenna character.

One week before the third Silk Stocking Striptease Show we put on a Burlesque Demonstration for the Birmingham Bizarre Bazaar. On 20 July, Delilah Dufoe, Angel LaVey and Tallulah Tease performed two acts each and demonstrated fan dancing and tassel twirling within one hour.

Notes:

- Gehenna took the role as stage hand and made a nuisance of himself behind the BBB compere.

- The dress code explicitly stated that no genital nudity was allowed. For the postings on the MoB we changed that to "there is no dress code, fetish wear is acceptable although genital nudity is strictly prohibited".

- This was the first time that the Silk Stocking Striptease Show did not run in The Flapper pub.

The third Silk Stocking Striptease Show took place on Sunday the 27 July 2008. The show was headlined by Cherryfox. Supporting performances were supplied by Delilah Dufoe, Fleur du Mal and Mega ton Trees. The Decadent Gent was now our resident compere and Angel LaVey was our singer. We also scored a coupe by getting the Mentallist Paul Brook to work our show. Miss Ditzy Diamond was our stage manager.

Notes:

- The Flapper offered us a Saturday night a short time before this show. Due to contracting and advertising we could not move the show.

- Mega ton Trees was our first Boylesque striptease act. We met him at the Scarlet fetish club a few months earlier and his routine then had us in stitches.

- Paul Brook is well known in the magic community, his appearance attracted quite a few magaicins.

- This was the first time that we met Al "The Gentleman Geek" Rudge.

On Friday the 22August 2008 Angel LaVey and I collaborated with J.D. Smith to put on the J.D. Smith Album Launch Party. J.D. Smith headlined the show and was supported by Swampmeat and Nate Pilgrim and the Magnificatz. The Decadent Gent and Gehenna handled the compere duties. Angel LaVey, Delilah Dufoe and Fleur du Mal performed Burlesque routines. Gehenna also had the pleasure of stage managing as well as communicating between the Burlesque and the bands.

Notes:

- The Album Launch party was a free entry event.

- Poor Decadent Gent was horribly jet lagged from his trip back from Australia and still worked the show.

- The show ran late which was why Gehenna had to introduce J.D. Smith.

On Saturday the 27September 2008 the fourth Silk Stocking Striptease Show took place, The show was headlined by Crimson Sugar. Supporting acts came from Angel LaVey, Leigh mon Merringue, Miss Ditzy Diamond and Dani California. The Decadent Gent was the compere. J.D. Smith supplied musical entertainment. As Angel and Ditzy were both performing Fleur du Mal kindly stepped in as the stage manager for a show.

Notes:

- Angel LaVey was originally going to be the stage manager until another performer was forced to pull out.

- This was the debut of Miss Ditzy Diamond.

- The Birmingham Town Hall worked a cross promotion with us. We advertised the Puppini Sisters show and they gave us two complimentary tickets to give away to an audience member.

- At this stage The Decadent Gent was now getting the audience to soundly boo Gehenna every time he came on stage.

On Saturday the 8 November 2008 the Silk Stocking Striptease Show was part of the SPiT LiKE THiS Debut Album Launch Party. SPiT LiKE THiS headlined the show and had support from local band Hanging Doll. Paul Stanley of the Kiss tribute band Dressed to Kill introduced SPiT LiKE THiS whilst The Decadent Gent handled all other compere duties. We supplied Burlesque by Darkteaser, Angel LaVey and Miss Ditzy Diamond. We also supplied magic by Al "The Gentleman Geek" Rudge and stand up comedy by Al Grant.

Notes:

- This was another free entry gig.

- This was the second event in which the Silk Stocking Striptease Show did not appear at The Flapper, it was also the biggest venue we’ve ever worked.

- Angel LaVey baked 200 fairy cakes for the show.

- Doing the event got the Silk Stocking Striptease Show mentioned in Devolution magazine and a huge plug by DJ Beerman of Top Rock Radio, he even mentioned every performer by name.

The fifth Silk Stocking Striptease Show took place on Saturday the 29November 2008. The show was headlined by Wild Card Kitty with supporting acts by the Chantilly Belles, Heather Sweet, Violet va Voom and Dolly Royale. Al "The Gentleman Geek" performed magic and comedy. The Decadent Gent was the compere, Angel LaVey was the singer and Miss Ditzy Diamond returned to her role as stage manager. Vlad of the KGB made his first ever appearance for the show.

Notes:

- Parma Violet of the Candy Box was responsible for the birth of the heckle "REDRAW" during our second prize draw. The "REDRAW" heckle has followed The Decadent Gent wherever there is a prize draw. The top prize was two tickets to Scarlet Fever Presents Burlesque and was presented by Scarlet Fever herself.

- This was our first show sponsored by SMELLYOURMUM.COM. To celebrate the fact we handed out 4 of their t-shirts to random audience members.

- Originally we wanted another doorman, no-one would have guessed this would launch Vlad of the KGB into the Burlesque world like a bullet from a gun.

The sixth Silk Stocking Striptease Show took place on the 24January 2009. The show was headlined by Scarlet Fever and featured more Burlesque by Emerald Ace, Darkteaser and Eris Eveiller. We also had comedy by Phil Hasted and Al Grant. As a late addition Al "The Gentleman Geek" Rudge ran our Credit Crunch Giveaway. The Decadent Gent, Angel LaVey and Miss Ditzy Diamond all did their regular duties of compere, singer and stage manager. Vlad of the KGB also returned and assisted Al Rudge.

Notes:

- Al Rudge was a last minute addition to the show when we felt we could jazz up the Credit Crunch Giveaway with his inclusion.

- The show was originally meant to run on 7 February 2009 but we had to move when The Flapper became part of the huge Surface Unsigned event, a lifeline to any music venue struggling in the economic downturn.

- Despite running a show in the dead month of January we still had a large audience.

The first Birthday of the Silk stocking striptease Show took place on the 25 April 2009. The show was headlined by Agent Lynch and featured supporting Burlesque by Lola Pops, Angel LaVey, Suzie Sequin, Miss Ditzy Diamond and Miss Dolly Rose.Al "The Gentleman Geek" Rudge performed magic and The Decadent gent was our compere. Vlad of the Kgb could be found at the back with Gehenna.

Notes:

- Heather Sweet, Angel LaVey and Miss Ditzy Diamond all chipped in as stage managers. Miss Ditzy Diamond and Angel LaVey also performed a Burlesque routine each. Angel LaVey also sang at the show. Angel has decided that multitasking is not all it’s cracked up to be.

- The huge prize draw was accused of being a fix when The Decadent Gent pulled three tickets for the same person, said person was celebrating her birthday and had been given raffle tickets by all her friends.

- Agent Lynch was a last minute addition. The original headline act was Daiquiri Dusk but she was forced to pull out after a skiing accident.

The eigth Silk Stocking Striptease Show took place on the 13June 2009. The show was headlined by Red Sarah and Trixee Sparkle. Supporting acts were supplied by Miss Dani California, Lula-Mae Ray and Mama Jenufa. Al "The Gentleman Geek" Rudge got put in a straight jacket and Angel LaVey was the singer. Al Grant was the compere and Peski DeVille took over the stage managing duties. Gehenna was seen sulking at the back of the room so nothing changed there.

Notes:

- Angel LaVey sang Queen song "The Show Must Go On" despite stating that she would never ever try to sing a song by Freddie Mercury.

- Peski DeVille strapped Al "The Gentleman Geek" Rudge into his straight jacket, shortly afterwards they became an item!

- Not only did Al Grant have the most costume changes of anyone in the show, he also created a new feel for the show as the compere with less crowd rousing and more interaction.

The final Silk Stocking Striptease Show took place on the 8 August 2009. The show was headlined by Mister Joe Black.  This show also featured burlesque from Fanny Divine, Leigh Mon Meringue, Honey Wilde and Vermillion Embers. This show also featured stand up comedy from Mister Dave Dinsdale and Angel LaVey once again fullfilling her role as resident singer. It was our pleasure to welcome back Al Grant as our erstwhile compere. This show also featured Gehenna making his burlesque performance debut.

Notes:

- This show was actually recorded, footage will be posted soon.

- Angel LaVey dragged two randon victims from the audience to be her back-up dancers for the eightes classic 'Fame'.

- Al Grant also dragged two random people from the audience to talk about Jaffa Cakes QVC presenter style.

- Gehenna decided he would not be performing. Angel would not stand for this, and challenged him to a Burlesque Face Off. The winner, as voted for by the audience would gain complete control of the show.

The Silk Stocking Striptease Show closed it's doors forever on the 9th August 2009. Enchanted Burlesque was born from the debris like a Phoenix out of the ashes. The show will take it's first flight on the 3 October 2009.
